The Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) is seeking a seasoned leader to join them as they work to bring entrepreneurial learning opportunities to young people across the country. NFTE is a growing organization that will need an experienced Talent professional to provide support to all of their human resources functions as they prepare to grow.
The Vice President of Talent (VPT) will own the vision, strategy, and execution of talent acquisition, development, and stewardship throughout NFTE. The VPT will provide high-level leadership in developing and executing human resources strategies in support of the NFTE mission and provides overall strategic direction and oversight for optimizing human capital processes, tools and systems.
The VPT has responsibility for building and developing organizational effectiveness through: talent management/succession planning, change management, organization and performance management, culture-building, training/development and compensation and benefits. The successful candidate for this role will have a demonstrated track record of success in these areas using creativity and innovation while also leveraging technology to facilitate the deployment of services to staff.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Serve on the NFTE Senior Management Team and function as the senior-most human capital expert in the organization
Serve as a strategic advisor, functional expert, thought partner and coach to the President and senior management team regarding key organizational, management and people issues as well as the strategies to address them
Represent NFTE philosophy and leadership development expertise in external forums
Talent Strategy and Management:
Establish and implement human capital strategies and plans that effectively support the organization's strategic vision and mission. Inspire staff, specifically managers, to adopt strategic plan and vision.
Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the organization's human capital needs; provide leadership and guidance in talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention and training/leadership development
Develop a robust performance management strategy and supporting systems to ensure all staff are equipped to excel in their roles and develop professionally
Develop and implement processes to gather employee feedback, resolve employee concerns, and actively investigate employee issues;
Ensure alignment of HR support areas, including benefits, payroll, compensation and compliance, to overall organizational effectiveness strategy; establish proactive service expectations; drive excellent delivery of HR services and transaction management
Develop robust onboarding plan customized to new employees
Manage, mentor and coach department staff, ensuring alignment of team and department objectives to overall organizational objectives and standards
Develop and manage talent team to critical goals set forth in the Strategic Plan. Design monitor, and evaluate progress
Establish and manage systems that promote and enable intradepartmental planning and execution
Model managerial excellence with departmental staff and peers through delivery of timely, constructive feedback and proactive evaluation of progress against goals
Track record of achieving strong results while maintaining an inclusive, collaborative leadership style
Strong strategic thinking skills with an ability to use data to make decisions and to translate strategy to plan to action
Ability to produce and disseminate sophisticated and nuanced employee communications. Proven ability to communicate with and build successful teams amidst a virtual workforce
Willingness to travel to regional sites for purposes of building sense of community and for improving cross-team and cross-functional communication
Superior communication skills with an ability to articulate a clear and compelling vision and lead others to implement it
Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop productive working relationships across a wide variety of individuals and groups, both internally and externally
Ability to coach and mentor direct reports, peers and executives on sound talent management practices; track record of driving organizational results by coaching and mentoring
Excellent relationship building skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with people with a wide diversity of demographic and cultural characteristics
Proven ability to hire, develop and retain effective, diverse teams and to work in a fast- paced nonprofit environment
Resilience and an outcomes-focused approach to work
Sound moral and ethical judgment and experience or familiarity with the culture as well as the regulatory and economic realities of a not-for-profit organization
Leadership experience in a large, multi-site organization with matrixed reporting and central/local structures and processes preferred

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
