      New Leaders for New Schools is a national non-profit organization
      dedicated to fostering high levels of academic achievement for every
      child through recruiting, training, and supporting the next
      generation of outstanding principals for our nation's urban
      public schools. New Leaders for New Schools aggressively recruits
      extremely talented people to become urban school principals. We
      provide rigorous, hands-on training (including coursework and a
      yearlong internship with an exceptional mentor principal), help
      place our graduates in urban public schools, and provide them with
      ongoing support, networking, and a community of peers after
      graduation. We are dedicated to developing leaders with dreams of
      creating and leading schools that can prepare all of our students

      1. Bay Area Program Assistant - Job Description

      Position Overview:
      The Program Assistant will be responsible for a mixture of project
      management and administrative functions all in support of the
      success of the New Leaders-Bay Area program and its principals-in-
      training. The individual will work with the Bay Area Executive
      Director and staff on specific projects, which will include
      interacting frequently with New Leaders Residents and funders,
      coordinating the local partnerships and managing relationships with
      outside contractors.

      Specific Responsibilities:
      • Be the initial point of contact for new recruits and supporters
      of New Leaders.
      • Organize and manage all details of the New Leaders Admissions
      process and database.
      • Provide schedule and calendar support to the Executive Director
      and other members of the New Leaders - Bay Area program team.
      • Assess and manage the general administrative needs of the team
      and work to complete long-term and short-term projects with team
      members.
      • Design and implement both large and small public events to
      support New Leaders Recruiting and Admissions.
      • Develop processes and procedures to ensure office operations
      are timely and cost efficient.
      • Communicate information between the New Leaders teams in
      various offices.
      • Purchase equipment and supplies as provided for in budget and
      in consultation with the Executive Director.
      • Support the Bay Area Office in preparing mailings,
      informational materials and other correspondence including for
      recruits, New Leaders Residents and graduates and funders.

      Qualifications:
      • A passionate commitment to improving urban public schools and
      to the New Leaders for New Schools mission
      • Excellent organizational, people and teamwork skills
      • Excellent project management and problem solving skills and the
      ability to be self directed
      • Ability to anticipate projects and take initiative
      • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,
      Outlook, Powerpoint) and basic Web browsers and searches required;
      familiarity with more advanced database packages a plus
      • Ability to learn quickly and succeed in the rapidly changing
      environment of a start-up organization

      Compensation:
      Includes salary (range of $30K – $35K, based upon experience and
      qualifications) and complete benefits.

      2. Bay Area Deputy Director - Job Description

      Position Overview:
      The Deputy Director for each New Leaders for New Schools program
      site will be responsible for assisting the local Executive Director
      in leading and implementing all aspects of our recruiting and
      training program for outstanding future principals.

      Specific Responsibilities:
      • Along with the local Executive Director, establish and manage
      all key partnerships for the program locally, including the district
      school system, local funders (both corporations and foundations),
      local universities and other major education-reform and community-
      based organizations in order to ensure the success of the local New
      Leaders program and its graduates.
      • Identify and cultivate sources of funding for the local New
      Leaders program. The Deputy Director will research potential
      funding sources, attend initial meetings, prepare presentations and
      proposals for funding, and manage the follow-up process with all
      current and potential funders.
      • Recruit outstanding candidates for the New Leaders program by
      networking with key nominators and contacts across the education,
      business, and non-profit sectors.
      • Build the recognition of New Leaders for New Schools in the
      broader community by meeting with community groups, school district
      officials, and business leaders.
      • Manage all operational details of the New Leaders program,
      including all admissions processes for the local program and any
      public events related to the New Leaders program.
      • The Deputy Director will report directly to the local Executive
      Director, and the local Executive Director will develop a set of
      clear individual goals for the Deputy Director based upon the above
      responsibilities. The program site team will also include an
      administrative assistant who will support both the local Executive
      Director and Deputy Director.

      Job Qualifications:
      • Passionate belief in the mission of New Leaders for New
      Schools, which is to foster high levels of academic achievement for
      every child by attracting, preparing, and supporting the next
      generation of outstanding principals for public schools across the
      nation.
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfort in
      presenting to a wide range of business and education audiences.
      • Experience in the K-12 education sector, or a strong
      familiarity with the issues and challenges of K-12 education in the
      local program site.
      • Excellent organizational and project management skills, preferably
      gained through business or non-profit management experience.
      • Strong networking and community-building skills across a
      diverse set of constituencies, including corporate leaders and
      funders, community organizations, and school district leaders.

      Salary Range:
      $55,000-$65,000 full-time annual salary base plus benefits,
      commensurate with experience.
