    Message 1 of 2 , Mar 21, 2013

CollegeSpring is California's largest and most effective nonprofit provider of SAT preparation and college readiness services specifically designed for students from low-income backgrounds, many of whom will be the first in their families to go to college. Since 2008, CollegeSpring has helped more than 2,700 students from 30 high schools in the Bay Area and Los Angeles County boost SAT scores, navigate the college admissions and financial aid processes, and
confidently pursue college degrees. In 2013, we will reach 2,300 additional students and hope to expand our reach to serve over 4,000 students annually in three markets by 2015. Students in our last three program cycles improved SAT scores 176 points on average and gained the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in college admissions.

Our program provides a new model for SAT preparation and college access. Participating students receive 40 hours of SAT preparation, 20 hours of college admissions and financial aid support, and take four full-length practice SAT exams. Near-peer mentoring is a key component of our success: in addition to participating in classes of 15-20 led by professional teachers, students also attend tutoring sessions in groups of 3-5 led by current college students, who provide personalized support and serve as college role-models. Mentors and teachers are supported by CollegeSpring Programs Managers, who ensure that staff have the training and instructional resources they need to successfully support students. CollegeSpring offers both summer and academic-year programs; in both cases, partner schools and community-based organizations recruit students, provide zero-cost facilities, and share longitudinal data.

The Los Angeles Programs Manager will have the opportunity to help chart the course of a dynamic and quickly scaling non-profit. For more information, visit our website at www.collegespring.org.
