      Job Description and Hiring Process 

      Based on a nationally recognized and award-winning model for secondary education, Envision Education is seeking an experienced educational leader to lead Impact Academy in Hayward, CA.
      We are seeking a passionate leader who possesses a deep belief that urban schools can send 100% of their students to college through rigorous instruction, excellent school culture, and a professional community of adults that drive the school's success.
      Envision Education is a national model for using Project Based Learning and Performance Assessment to prepare students for success in college and in life.  Envision Education operates four small high schools, and have demonstrated results, with 98% of graduates attending college.

      Major Responsibilities 
      Educational Leadership 
      • Lead the instructional program of the school, including:  coaching teachers, using data to improve teaching and learning, and driving a school-wide focus on excellent teaching
      • Ensure the highest of expectations for student learning and achievement in every classroom, everyday
      • Lead the site Leadership Team consisting of Vice Principal(s) and Lead Teachers to effectively guide the school towards targeted goals
      • Provide three hours per week of high-quality staff development and collaboration
      • Leverage the Envision School educational model including the College Success Portfolio System 
      • Attract, hire, supervise, and develop all school staff members to create a high-functioning team focused on student success.
      • Build and maintain a positive and supportive staff culture based on trust, risk-taking, respect, reflective learning, and collaboration.
      • Clearly articulate the school's goals and programs, as well as Envision's mission and vision, to internal and external stakeholders 

      School Culture
      • Set the tone and culture of the school, leading staff to convey the highest of expectations for students, and hold the school accountable for student achievement.
      • Create a vibrant and positive school culture that supports student learning and deep relationships between students and staff
      • With the VP of Student Support, ensure students are respectful and on-task, supervise school-wide management systems, and develop a rich and supportive school environment that is tangibly felt by everyone on campus

      Administrative and Operational Oversight 
      • Responsible for all day-to-day school operations including setting and maintaining a balanced budget, managing state and local compliance, and ensuring a safe and smooth functioning school environment
      • Supervise school facilities and ensure excellent facility management
      • Lead school enrollment efforts to ensure a fully enrolled school with a waiting list

      Governance and Senior Management Team 
      • Serve as member of the Envision Principal team of the organization, clearly articulate school objectives and challenges, and help set and meet long-term and medium-term organizational goals
      • Partner with Envision's three other principals and Superintendent to set the educational vision for the organization and help to continually improve the educational model
      • With CEO of Envision Education, serve as representative to the chartering school district, and act as primary spokesperson and leader of the school

      Salary and Benefits

      Minimum qualifications:
      • Administrative Services credential required; Master's degree strongly preferred.
      • At least 5 years of highly successful teaching experience in an urban setting.
      • Successful school leadership experience or targeted training with a track record of excellent results.
      • Experience leading adults to accomplish ambitious goals in the face of challenging obstacles.
      • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred.
      • Thrives in a small school environment and able to generate enthusiasm and support among staff and community partners for the mission of the organization.
      • Excellent inter-personal skills including collaboration and a team orientation; ability to lead and inspire.
      • Ability to effectively prioritize and lead on multiple initiatives simultaneously.
      • Demonstrated ability to effect positive organizational change.
