This is a Competition for Educational Innovations & Dream Learning Models.

The theme for the week beginning January 20 is Tech, Games, and Simulations.

Please RSVP and invite your friends who you believe may be interested in voting or entering.

Venture Academy, a new middle-high learning model opening in Minneapolis this August, is excited to announce a national opportunity to showcase, celebrate and learn from promising learning innovations and new learning models serving middle and high school age learners.

We encourage you to submit an entry yourself or encourage an edupreneur in your network to submit an entry.

Entering is simple, the awards are real, read on for instructions.

Edupreneurship is the act — by educators and also by young people themselves — of undertaking considerable initiative and risk on behalf of improving learning.

Edupreneurs aren't satisfied with the status quo, but continually seek new and better ways to engage students in their own learning.

The Showcase includes five semi-final competitions, with voting completed by liking entries on Venture Academy's Facebook page.

      • Week 1: Tech, Games, and Simulations (submit by January 19th, voting January 20th-24th): Tell us how you've deployed technology tools, digital content, learning games and/or simulation-based activities to engage learners

      • Week 2: Student-Driven Learning (submit by January 26th, voting January 27th-31st): Tell us how you've inspired learner ownership and engagement to deepen and/or accelerate learning

      • Week 3: Inspiring World Changers (submit by February 2nd, voting February 3rd-7th): Tell us how you've ignited the passion of young people to make their world a better place

      • Week 4: Entrepreneurial Leadership (submit by February 9th, voting February 10th-14th): Tell us how you've cultivated the capacity of young people as innovators and/or entrepreneurs

      • Week 5: Reimagining Learning (submit by February 16th, voting February 17th-21st): Share your design for your dream school or learning program, including a detailed description of how it ignites innovative, entrepreneurial world-changers

Voting for the Grand Prize will take place between February 24th and 28th.

Each semi-finalist will receive an iPad mini, with the grand prize to be announced in February.

To enter Venture's Edupreneur Showcase, please submit the following to Venture Academy via email to showcase@... or by sending a message to our Facebook Page:

      • A candidate statement of roughly 750 words or less and a high-resolution image representing your statement (for instance, a photo of yourself). Entries must demonstrate positive student outcomes in the category. Entries can include a link to a video, website, and/or digital portfolio.
      • Your chosen weekly category
      • Your birthdate (must be over 18)
      • Mailing address (to mail iPad mini if you win)

Venture Academy's mission is to ignite the passion of every young person to become an innovator and entrepreneurial leader who will change the world.
