The K12 Search Group has recently partnered with The McKnight Foundation to recruit a program and policy officer for the Education and Learning program.
The McKnight Foundation is a 4th-generation, multi-issue family foundation. Founded almost 60 years ago and headquartered in Minnesota, the Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life for present and future generations. Within the cradle-to-career continuum, the Education and Learning (E&L) program area is focused on increasing the percentage of students reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade. The Foundation has partnered with the renowned University of Chicago Urban Education Institute (UEI) to provide direct funding, technical assistance, and access to knowledge sharing to Twin Cities school districts.
The ideal candidate for program and policy officer role is a strong analytic thinker with a deep grasp of education issues in urban America and the national education reform landscape. This individual will represent The McKnight Foundation in state and local conversations related to education and literacy policy, work closely with UEI and the advisory committee, and manage a select number of grants to advance the Foundation's policy goals.
