Location: Remote, Reporting to National Office in NYC
CFY is a national education nonprofit that helps students in low-income communities, together with their teachers and families, harness the power of digital learning to improve educational outcomes.
CFY pursues this mission through the combination of its groundbreaking K-12 learning platform, PowerMyLearning.com, and its on-the-ground direct service initiative, the CFY Digital Learning Program. PowerMyLearning makes best-in-class digital learning activities easily accessible and usable to meet the full range of K-12 learning needs. It is an integral part of CFY's Digital Learning Program which is conducted in partnership with low-income public schools to increase home technology access, extend learning beyond the classroom, and deeply engage parents in the learning process. The program provides training for teachers, students and their parents along with a free broadband-ready home computer loaded with educational software and 24×7 bilingual help desk support.
To date, CFY has served more than 50,000 families from 100 schools nationwide and has demonstrated significant impact on student achievement, student engagement, parental confidence, and broadband adoption. To extend the impact of its work even further, CFY operates an Affiliate Network of over 30 organizations in more than 20 states and the District of Columbia.
CFY is looking for Mathematics Assessment Consultants to both discover high-quality, free, online Digital Assessment Activities as well as assist with the development of new Digital Assessment Activities to be included on PowerMyLearning.com, CFY's award-winning K-12 learning platform. Mathematics Assessment Consultants are experienced classroom teachers or content specialists with an expertise in any of grades 3-8 mathematics.
Assist with the development, alignment, and editing of high-quality assessment items for use in a new assessment engine to be included on PowerMyLearning.com
Search for / find high-quality, free, online Digital Assessment Activities and/or Items that support student mastery of Common Core State Standards in one of areas listed above
Enter assessment content, title, description and any other required information into CFY databases or assessment engines
Create, edit, and perform quality assurance checks on PML Progress Check assessments aligned to the Common Core State Standards
Collaborate with CFY staff, art vendors, and other freelance specialists, as needed
Passion for CFY's mission
Strong mathematics content knowledge in applicable grade level
Knowledge of Common Core State Standards in mathematics and applicable grade level
At least one year of professional or classroom teaching experience in mathematics and applicable grade level
Ability to work remotely and independently with superior problem-solving skills
Availability to participate in conference calls and remote trainings, when necessary
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
HOURS & COMPENSATION
Hours are flexible and consultants will work remotely. Compensation will vary depending on project and can vary from hourly to per-assignment rates.
