      The Coach for Teacher Professional Learning for San Francisco Unified School District will provide ongoing direct assistance to Lesson Study Project and Master Teacher Program teachers and paraprofessionals at school sites to improve classroom instruction for all students.

      S/he will work closely with professional learning communities as they create, sustain, and incorporate into their teaching the work of ongoing reflection and inquiry and broaden and deepen their knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy.

      This Teacher on Special Assignment (TSA) will report to the Supervisor for Professional Development in the Division of Curriculum and Instruction(C&I), San Francisco Unified School District.

      - Assist in designing, coordinating, and facilitating professional development and follow-up coaching for Lessons Study Teams consistent with adult learning research
      - Assist in designing, coordinating, and facilitating Prop A professional development and follow-up support for paraprofessionals consistent with adult learning research
      - Support equity-centered models of teaching and learning
      - Seek and use a variety of sources and resources inside and outside the district to examine and improve curriculum and pedagogy
      - Address the issues of race/ethnicity, language, culture, and underserved populations as they impact professional learning
      - Be comfortable working with various groups, including school-based administrators, teachers, and students
      - Identify and share innovative, promising, and best practices for creating Pre K-12 educators
      - Perform related duties as assigned

      Knowledge of child development including academic, social and emotional aspects

      - Possession of a valid California Teaching Credential
      - Possession of CLAD certification
      - 5 years of full time classroom teaching experience
      - Can work flexible hours

      - Excellent skills in written and oral communication,

      - Experience as a facilitator, e.g, grade level or department chair work
      - Successful experience working with diverse student and faculty populations

      - Experience with inquiry based teaching and learning
      - Experience using multimedia technologies
      - Knowledge of professional development approaches
