      Description of School:

      Escuela Popular provides educational services to over 550 students
      in three age-appropriate programs in two facilities. Our student
      population is predominately Latino. Most of our students are first
      generation immigrants who come from Spanish-speaking households.
      The Elementary School implements the Two-Way Dual Language Immersion
      program with Spanish being the target language. The elementary
      program currently serves 90 students in grades K-4. Each year a new
      grade level is added, as we work toward adding a middle school
      program. The Under 19 High School Program serves 50-60 students age
      14-19, while the Over 19 High School Program serves over 500
      students in the morning and evening programs. The Over 19 High
      School Program provides childcare services for its students.

      Escuela Popular is led by the Executive Directors of the Elementary
      and High School Programs, and is responsive to student needs through
      a shared decision-making process. We are seeking an Assessment
      Director to analyze test results, prepare reports, and document
      student gains.

      The Assessment Director will:

      • Oversee the administration of all tests by selecting,
      ordering, implementing, scoring, and submitting standardized and
      customized testing as deemed necessary;
      • Analyze, codify, interpret, and summarize test results using
      database technology, and assist teachers, staff and the community in
      understanding testing purposes and results;
      • Maintain longitudinal student achievement data and provide
      other information as necessary to assist instructional leaders and
      others in the documentation of student learning gains and gaps;
      • Develop and design alternative forms of assessment (e.g.,
      pre- and post assessments, placement tests, etc.);
      • Share assessment data with Curriculum Director and Director
      of Instruction to guide future curriculum structures and frameworks;
      • Help set annual benchmarks for student progress;
      • Present test results to school staff, district staff, board
      of directors, and prospective funders in professional oral and
      written formats (e.g., PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.); and
      • Coordinate the design of customized assessments developed
      and conducted by outside groups to ensure the provision of quality
      services in a cost-effective manner.

      Requirements:
      • Advanced Degree
      • Thorough knowledge of testing and assessment measurement
      theory and practice
      • 5-7 years of experience in testing, measurement, data
      analysis, and results-driven analysis
      • Experience in school administration and/or classroom teaching
      • Ability to interpret test scores and measurement terminology
      for administrators, teachers, parents, and other constituents
      • Ability to create assessments and testing tools within basic
      web- and PC- based test generating programs
      • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with
      school staff, district staff, and other relevant constituents
      • Bilingual Spanish/English
      • Experience in a nonprofit organization preferred
      • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills
      • Strong team player
      • Must be highly flexible
      • Ability to work with diverse constituents
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Mission driven
      • Must possess a positive attitude while working in a
      nontraditional environment
