      Riverdeep, a leader in Educational and Consumer Software is
      searching for a Senior Brand Manager to join our staff.

      Summary of position:
      Develops and oversees execution of brand strategy and tactics to
      achieve profitability goals for education products. Conducts product
      and market research to analyze market demand as well as
      opportunities for the assigned products. Develops and implements
      related product marketing plans and creates budgets for products. Is
      the Core Curriculum evangelist within the company.

      At this level is accountable for the high profile product launches
      and campaigns across all sales channels: direct to schools, direct
      to consumer, retail, OEM, value and international. Owns the brand
      positioning, pricing, packaging and distribution strategy and can
      guide other Marketing Managers and Associate Marketing Managers in
      their marketing efforts. Creates and implements marketing plans and
      prepares budgets for products. May negotiate pricing of media
      services with vendors and media houses as appropriate. Sets revenue
      and profit objectives for their product. Develops business
      strategies and plans to meet objectives. Identify resources to
      implement the required plans. Act as a decisive thinker and business
      manager capable of motivating teams.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
      • Manage two brand managers
      • Work closely with management to determine business objectives
      and strategies.
      • Identify and recommend product positioning and communication
      • Conduct business reviews and forecasts, which include analysis
      of sales, pricing, category/competition and profitability.
      • Develop marketing plans for product lines with increasing scope
      against both new and established product conditions.
      • Leverage and track market performance applying both internal
      and competitive contexts.
      • Anticipate category conditions and recommend product line or
      business building initiatives.
      • Apply strong financial context to decision making.
      • Recommend product pricing and volume forecasts based on market
      conditions and internal contributions, gains and shortfalls.
      • Develop on-going relationships with Operations, Sales, Research
      and Development, Public Relations and Product Marketing to address
      opportunities or issues as they arise.
      • Develop promotional strategy and drive implementation with
      Sales, Operations, Finance, and Marketing teams. Evaluate the
      results of channel activities and promotions.
      • Anticipate and influence any cross-market and cross-channel
      • Follow up as appropriate in result evaluation with Channel
      • Initiate and help develop consumer and trade related marketing
      • Represent the consumer in all teams or projects.
      • Participate and/or lead special projects as assigned.
      • Establish and manage budget for respective line(s).
      • Analyze market and technology trends to determine product gaps
      and develop product upgrades or extension strategies.
      • Anticipate additional product needs utilizing new or existing
      product resources/assets.
      • Lead the development of the product design, positioning
      statement, feature/benefit set, promotion plan and package design,
      as well as establish necessary consumer research for any new efforts.
      • Work closely with development teams to ensure on-time market
      • Develop and drive profit and loss parameter approval for
      respective initiative.
      • Work with Creative Services to design and create product
      packaging and collateral materials.
      • Initiate and direct product launch plans and assist in
      evaluation and execution of consumer and trade related marketing
      • Ensure timely analysis of performance and identify any
      additional efforts needed to ensure in market success.

      • MBA with marketing emphasis or equivalent relevant experience
      in Brand or Software Products preferred.
      • Education industry experience a major plus
      • Five plus years of business experience in a customer-focused
      • Demonstrated knowledge and application of marketing principles
      and practices.
      • Demonstrated capacity to view global issues while meeting
      tactical needs.
      • Experience working in a deadline-oriented environment with high
      attention to product quality.
      • Hands-on experience with brand or business management basics,
      product positioning, budgeting and/or packaging required.
