Overview of the Position
Lick Wilmerding High School is looking for excellent candidates for a full-time Glass position in the Technical Arts for at least one year. We are looking for teachers with a passion for the arts, crafts, and design technology, have their own practice and are eager to critically and creatively engage students in the Arts. We are looking for colleagues who are kind, thoughtful, energetic, innovative teachers, and all-around "school people" who want to participate in and contribute to our vibrant department and community. We encourage risk taking in our teaching practice while maintaining academic rigor, craftsmanship, and clear expectations. Ideal candidates will have three years teaching experience, a master's degree in the Arts, and significant glass training (stained glass, sandblasting, bead making, and glass fusing). Other strengths may include: sculpture, rendering and drafting, eco-design, cross-disciplinary approaches to problem finding and solving, inspire collaboration, interest in creating with a public purpose and service learning. A love of high school students, adaptability, and a sense of humor are required.
