The Talent Manager will be the leader in finding, developing and
retaining educators, support staff and school leaders at our schools
and regional offices. The Talent Manager will be responsible for
overseeing the execution of an annual recruiting campaign designed to
attract 100-300 highly qualified educators and support staff for
Aspire Schools in Los Angeles, the Central Valley and the Bay Area.
In addition, the Talent Manager will help develop and implement a
retention plan across Aspire to ensure our excellent educators are
highly satisfied and have the opportunity for a extended career at
Aspire. This position is based in Oakland, CA. We expect that travel
during peak recruiting periods (April July) will be approximately
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a targeted recruiting strategy with the goal
of attracting 150 diverse, highly qualified teachers to Aspire. In
addition, some recruitment for office managers, tutors,
paraprofessionals, and home office staff will be expected. Specific
duties will include:
a. Build excitement around Aspire and the challenges of working
within the K-12 education sector and rewards of working within
b. Conduct outreach activities related to recruitment in order to
communicate the Aspire opportunity to four major candidate pools:
current K-12 educators; graduating teacher candidates; other
alternative credentialing alumni; and government and non-profit
c. Build and maintain a network of organizations that can serve as
nominators for high-quality candidates for Aspire; build lasting
relationships with universities who produce successful Aspire
d. Build relationships with Aspire principals to understand their
needs and priorities for candidates.
e. Respond promptly to prospective candidates and lead them through
each step of the recruiting process to include credential
documentation and compliance.
f. Manage a full-time recruiter and temporary recruitment support to
ensure a high-quality experience for candidates and hiring managers.
2. Lead the development of a unique credentialing partnership to
create an early, high-quality pipeline of Aspire educators.

5. Ensure seamless on-boarding for new hires and continued support
throughout their career at Aspire.
6. Develop an externally-focused marketing and PR campaign that
attracts and retains the highest quality teachers to the organization
in collaboration with the Operations team.
7. Be a "public face" for Aspire through participation as speaker or
panelist at relevant conferences and meetings. Network at other
venues that are populated by potential candidates and nominators.
Positively represent Aspire and its programs to potential candidates,
school districts, and other parties in order to facilitate
recruitment and placement.

of recruiting efforts, communicate important information to the
executive team, and use metrics to inform future priorities within
the recruiting department.
10. Project and track yearly recruitment expenditures for budgetary
consideration and control.
11. Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, Aspire Public Schools
mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and
procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and
the code of ethical behavior.
12. Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

2) Minimum education level:
