New Leaders Council Fellowship Program
New Leaders Council (NLC) started because its founders and current leadership understood that we must have progressive thinkers in positions of influence as CEOs of major corporations, journalists in positions of significant public exposure, and the most skilled elected officials and candidates in the world. Conservatives have invested in recruitment and leadership training since the 1960s; progressives are just beginning now. NLC strengthens the progressive movement by identifying and recruiting new progressive leaders. NLC provides these emerging leaders with training, mentoring, networking, and job placement opportunities that equip them to be civic leaders, not only for elected office, but also in their communities and workplaces. It recognizes that a truly progressive movement is inclusive and empowering and makes a special effort to recruit people from outside the usual power structures. The NLC Institute, NLC's marquee leadership development program is now accepting applications and the deadline to apply is quickly approaching. The program runs from January through May on eight weekend days and is completely free. The NLC Institute is there to help us become better advocates for the causes about which we care the most. We need to continue to get smart and be strategic about advancing the causes we care about. Take a look at what the NLC Institute is all about (more info below and on website) and let us know if you have any questions. Also, if you know of others who would be good for this, please nominate them.
