      Education Pioneers seeks Director of National Recruiting


      Education Pioneers (www.educationpioneers.org) is a national nonprofit organization with the mission to train, connect, and inspire a new generation of education leaders dedicated to transforming our educational system so that all students receive a quality education. Education Pioneers strives to:

      1. Develop a pipeline of talented leaders from multiple disciplines who can significantly improve student outcomes in urban schools
      2. Increase the capacity of existing schools, districts, and education ventures to operate as high-performing organizations
      3. Build a national network of education leaders and reformers

      The Director of National Recruiting will work as part of the Human Assets team helping to ensure that Education Pioneers has the talent it needs in order to advance its mission. This person will be responsible for building a robust recruiting operation to support the successful expansion of the Education Pioneers Fellowship program to 225 Fellows in 2009 and beyond. The Director of National Recruiting will report to the head of our Human Assets team. This role will require travel to major recruiting events and Education Pioneers sites ~20% of the time.

      Primary Responsibilities:
      •Design and execute Campus recruiting strategy to provide a robust pipeline of diverse, highly accomplished individuals for the summer Fellowship Program
      •Manage recruitment operation to meet aggressive recruiting goals at top graduate schools around the country
      •Leverage Alumni network through the creation and implementation of a “Campus Captain” program to increase the presence of Education Pioneers on targeted campuses
      •Identify national career fairs and other networking opportunities to increase the brand awareness of Education Pioneers
      •Identify ways to effectively leverage social networking sites in recruitment efforts
      •Create professor outreach program to build strong relationships with University professors and enlist their support in recruiting top talent for the Fellowship program
      •Develop branded recruitment materials, presentations, and communications to support an external focused marketing campaign
      •Evaluate recruiting sources and techniques to develop and implement recruiting best practices geared toward constantly enhancing the recruitment function
      •Utilize applicant tracking system to capture key prospective applicant information and use past and present applicant data to inform recruiting process
      •Design Evaluation process to measure effectiveness of recruiting efforts
      •Regularly assess the recruiting team’s progress toward meeting interim recruiting goals and adjust strategy as needed to ensure the team’s success
      •Support the Human Assets team in recruiting top talent for fulltime positions

      Desired Qualifications:
      The ideal candidate is a results-oriented, highly competent individual with the ability to motivate a team toward meeting ambitious skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess the ability to contribute exceptional strategic-thinking, organizational, and operational skills within the context of an entrepreneurial environment. Key qualifications also include:
      •Five or more years of relevant professional experience; may include University Career Services & Admission, campus recruiting at a national level, and direct management of teams
      •Experience working in a Management Consulting Firm recruiting operation or MBA Career Office highly desirable
      •Graduate degree required
