      New Leaders for New Schools is a national community of leaders,
      schools and education
      change agents working together to ensure high academic achievement
      for every student by
      attracting and preparing outstanding leaders and supporting the
      performance of the urban
      public schools they lead at scale. New Leaders recruits extremely
      talented people to become
      urban school principals by providing them with rigorous, hands-on
      leadership training and a
      yearlong Residency with an outstanding mentor principal. We also help
      place our graduates in
      urban public schools and provide them with ongoing support,
      networking, and a community of
      peers after graduation. New Leaders runs programs in New York City,
      Chicago, Washington,
      DC, Memphis, the Bay Area of California, Baltimore and Prince Georges
      County, Milwaukee,
      and New Orleans.

      Position Description
      The School Support Manager works directly with the Bay Area team,
      national school support
      staff, and New Leaders to resource and empower every New Leaders
      school to achieve
      unprecedented academic achievement growth for all of its students.
      This position is for
      someone who is passionate about working to see that happen. The
      School Support Manager
      also serves as a key liaison to other teams across the New Leaders
      functional areas, ensuring
      both alignment and clarity of priorities across multiple staff teams.
      Specific responsibilities include:
      · Supporting the New Leaders community of practice
      o understanding the needs and strengths of all Bay Area New Leaders
      and their
      schools
      o facilitating cross-functional work team on school support, ensuring
      clear agendas
      and materials created for each session and getting clear commitments
      from each
      meeting
      o working closely with Bay Area team in evaluating the impact of
      school support
      efforts, including making recommendations on process as needed
      o creating and managing systems to ensure that New Leaders complete
      all
      certification requirements and coursework
      · Facilitating the work of the school performance support team.
      o scheduling all meetings (including cross-functional work teams) and
      travel on
      behalf of school support
      o contributing to school support planning process and activities
      o collaborating with the local and national school support team on
      developing
      focus groups, professional development, and other support functions as
      necessary
      o maintaining and documenting the various frameworks and tools for
      assessing
      student achievement and intervening in instruction

      · Designing and managing databases about school performance data and
      school improvement
      resources.
      o identifying and cataloguing all professional development resources
      for school
      support, including books, articles, consultants, and outside vendors
      o managing online community content to ensure that it matches and
      supports New
      Leaders' individual and school wide needs
      o managing school support budget

      Job Qualifications
      · Passionate belief in the mission of New Leaders for New Schools,
      which is to ensure
      high academic achievement for every child by attracting, preparing
      and supporting the
      next generation of outstanding leaders for our nation's urban public
      schools.
      · Teaching experience required; school-administration and/or
      educational leadership
      position preferred.
      · Experience in school-level reform and instructional improvement
      processes, or
      experience with support of such reform processes from a
      district/system level.
      · Bachelor's degree in education-related field required; graduate
      degree in public policy,
      education, or management preferred.
      · Ability to work successfully across a wide range of cross-
      functional teams, without
      benefit of formal authority.
      · Experience with strategy development, including program planning,
      budgeting, and
      framing of essential questions.
      · Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as inter-
      and intra- personal
      skills. Comfort and familiarity with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
      · Excellent strategic thinker and problem solver.
      · Excellent organizational and project management skills, preferably
      gained through
      business or non-profit management experience.
      · Highly motivated self-starter who is also comfortable working in a
      dynamic team
      environment.

      Compensation
