      transform public education for underserved children by supporting
      education entrepreneurs and by providing thought leadership across
      traditional education boundaries. Founded in 1998, NewSchools has
      raised about $100 million for investment in both nonprofit and for-
      profit organizations. Our current investment strategy focuses on
      increasing the supply of high-quality public schools for underserved

      NewSchools is a small organization of 25 people located in two
      cities, San Francisco (where we are headquartered) and Boston. We are
      seeking to add an executive assistant to our team who will be
      responsible for the coordination of all scheduling, travel, and
      administrative projects for two Partners in the firm, and occasional
      administrative support to other members of the team. The position
      reports directly to one Partner. The successful candidate will also
      work closely with the Executive Assistant to CEO, other staff and
      provide back-up administrative support as needed.

      Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the
      following activities.
      - Maintain Partners' calendars via MS Outlook and coordinate
      scheduling of meetings and conference calls (both internal and
      - Coordinate travel arrangements for Partners, as requested
      - Prepare expense reports for Partners, as requested
      - Perform general clerical duties (faxing, copying, collation of
      materials, filing, mailing)
      - Maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems for retrieval of
      - Assist with preparing correspondence, reports, and materials for
      publications and presentations (including proofreading, formatting,
      and checking facts and figures)
      - Create meeting agendas and minutes according to established formats
      - Conduct basic background research on people, organizations and
      - Work closely with the Executive Assistant on special projects and
      administrative overflow support, as needed, including production of
      materials for quarterly Board and Investment Partner meetings
      - Complete special projects, as needed, including web research,
      market research, etc.
      - Other duties as assigned

      Success in the position will require, but not be limited to, the

      venture capitalists

      projects and relationships
      > Reasoning and Strategic Thinking:
      - Ability to think creatively, recommend innovative solutions and
      align own goals to the broader organization with tolerance and
      - Good understanding of the history, philosophy and entrepreneurial
      nature of NewSchools, familiar with commonly used education concepts
      and languages
      - Quantitative and qualitative analytic research skills
      - Use of good judgment and initiative to perform tasks while keeping
      the firm's overall mission and goals in mind

      A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) plus three to four years relevant
      work experience
