      Founded in 2002, Extreme Learning, Inc. (www.extremelearn.com) is a fast-growing educational services provider for K-12 students, currently serving the California market with plans to expand nationally.  We are a team of professionals who thrive in a "start-up" type work environment.  Extreme Learning provides targeted academic intervention services to school districts.  In the 2006-07 school year, Extreme Learning served a total of 173 schools in 63 districts in Northern and Southern California .  Extreme Learning uses technology to ignite students' passion for learning while providing academic support and enrichment.  Recently, the California State Board of Education re-approved Extreme Learning as a Supplemental Services Provider under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act.  Our corporate office is located in Morgan Hill , California , with a secondary office located in Southern California ( Lake Forest ). 

      @Adelante Online is a remedial tutoring program for K-12 students provided to school districts in California .  The program is a service of Extreme Learning, Inc., and includes:

      • Computer
      • Educational Software
      • Academic Productivity Software (Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Presentation)
      • Personal Productivity Software (Calendar, eMail, Tasks)
      • Interaction Software (Whiteboard, instant messaging, shared documents, voice)
      • Internet Access
      • In-Person Training for Students and Parents
      • One-on-One Tutoring via Internet

      The Position

      The Vice President of Operations - @Adelante is responsible for the following:

      • Creating workflows describing all steps required to fulfill sales, and managing the organization to implement these workflows
      • Creating work plans describing initiatives and supporting tasks associated with developing and managing the program
      • Creating an organizational structure, recruiting, hiring, and managing staff (with the support of Extreme Learning's Staffing and HR Departments) to run the program
      • Managing the profit and loss of the program to reach annual revenue and margin targets
      • Ensuring customer satisfaction with users (students and parents) and customers (school and district administrators) and continued use of the program, beyond the district sponsored tutoring including a parent pay option
      • Developing distribution partnerships with hardware and software providers, Internet providers, channel partners and others
      • Developing a relationship with off-shore tutoring resources to provide ongoing tutoring at low cost to families who will pay for services once government funding runs out

      Qualifications

      Knowledge of:

      ·         Success managing a P&L

      ·         Proven success managing managers, creating a collaborative and positive work environment

      Abilities:

      ·         Organization skills and ability to manage multiple critical deadlines and demands

      ·         Outstanding interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy

      ·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

      ·         Ability to create systems and metrics to monitor success

      ·         Exercise confidentiality and discretion

      ·         Utilize technology and a variety of software programs is a must

      Experience:

      ·         7-10 years experience in a senior management role in a company or companies with $5M to $25M in annual revenues

      ·         Experience managing in the for-profit education or services fields desired

      ·         Demonstrated experience successfully growing an organization and managing multiple layers of personnel

      ·         Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive customer relationships

      ·         Demonstrated experience building workflow and software systems to support organizational efficiency

      ·         Strong understanding of, and experience working with the Hispanic/Latino market

      ·         BA/BS Degree

      Other:

      ·         Valid driver's license required

      ·         Background check required

      ·         Demonstrated ability to work evenings and weekends, as needed, is required

      Compensation

      Compensation includes a base salary, a yearly profit-sharing bonus, and stock options.  The VP of Operations is also eligible for medical benefits, up to three weeks vacation and paid vacation, and matching 401(k) program.  The VP of Operations will use a company laptop computer, cell phone and receive mileage reimbursement.
