      ABOUT ENVISION SCHOOLS
Founded in 2002, Envision Schools is a nonprofit charter management
organization headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, which
operates innovative college-preparatory high schools that educate
diverse student bodies, especially First Generation College Bound
(FGCB) youth. Because only 12% of California's First Generation
      College Bound (FGCB)
urban high school students receive a four-year college degree,
Envision Schools aims to quadruple the college graduation
rate for our FGCB students in comparison to peer students. Today,
Envision is achieving outstanding results with a student body that is
53% African American or Hispanic/Latino, 52% qualified for Free and
Reduced Lunch, and 50% First Generation College Bound.

Envision Schools operates four schools, two in San Francisco, one in
Novato and one in Oakland. A fifth school will open for the 2007-08
      school year.

Envision is one of two charter school management organizations funded
directly by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for a total of $10.8
million, to date, to start two clusters of eight high schools each.

      Other generous supporters include:
      • California Charter School Grant Program • Oracle Education Foundation

teach, learn, create and innovate by actively
fostering an environment where all staff are part of a professional
learning community and a larger student and parent
community that honors and values respect, trust, risk-taking and
      openness to learning.
