      Start-up faculty wanted at Oakland School for the Arts

      The Oakland School for the Arts is a new charter public high school with special focus on creative writing, dance, music, theatre and visual arts. OSA invites applications for start-up faculty to open September 2002.  Faculty will begin June 17, 2002.  The School will begin with a 9th grade class of 100 students and will add a 9th grade class each year.  The Board

      of Directors is in search of a dynamic and diverse team.  Teaching positions to be filled in Dance, English, Math, Music, Science, Social Sciences, Theatre, Visual Arts and World Languages.  Teachers must be willing to become certified in the state of California. Responsibilities include teaching, program and curriculum development, committee work and substantial administrative duties.  The individual must hold a college degree and/or have accomplishments appropriate for appointment.  The salary is competitive.  The application deadline is December 14, 2001.  Submit a letter describing their interest in the school, experience and philosophy, vitae, and a list of five references to:
