Institutional Giving Manager

This is a full time position with the Yosemite National Institutes
(YNI). YNI is a nationally recognized leader in the field of
experiential environmental education, providing educational
adventures in nature's classroom to inspire a personal connection to
the natural world and responsible actions to sustain it. YNI
conducts programs for more than 40,000 participants annually at its
three campuses: Headlands Institute in the Golden Gate National
Recreation Area, near San Francisco, Olympic Park Institute in
Olympic National Park, Washington, and Yosemite Institute in
Yosemite National Park, California.
The Institutional Giving Manager is responsible for securing support
from foundations, governmental agencies, and corporations to meet
the organization's operating and capital needs. This person will
directly supervise the Institutional Giving Officer, Northwest
Region and will work closely with the Development and Marketing team
to ensure the overall success of the fundraising effort. This
position reports to the Director of Community Engagement.
Duties of the Job:
Responsibilities include working with the Development and Marketing
Department to accomplish the goals and objectives of the position.
Duties will include:
Identify and research foundation and corporate funding prospects;
match funding opportunities with appropriate programs and capital
projects. Compose well-conceived and succinct letters of inquiry
and grant proposals based upon funders' guidelines; develop
relations with granting agencies in an effort to familiarize them
with the Institutes' programs and activities; prepare grant reports
to assure compliance with grant requirements.
Work effectively with the education and program staff in
developing proposals and tracking progress of grant-funded projects.
Conduct stewardship activities to maintain and build relations
with institutional funders.
Develop creative sponsorships and partnerships with local and
national businesses and corporations.
Prepare monthly grant forecast reports for the Director of

The ideal candidate can demonstrate the following:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; one
to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Three years of professional grant writing or development experience
Knowledge of Bay Area foundations and corporations preferred
Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently complete
Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings
$50,000 - $55,000, DOE
