- Mar 19, 2013School Culture CoordinatorCity Arts and Technology High School, SFUnder the supervision of the Vice Principal of Student Support at City Arts and Technology High School in San Francisco, the School Culture Coordinator will work closely with students, families and the community. This position will support leadership in developing and maintaining a strong college-going culture within the high school and will have day-to-day responsibility for maintaining a safe learning environment and ensuring the well-being of all students and staff.Essential Responsibilities:Student Support/Culture: Work proactively with students to mediate disputes in classroom, halls, and outside of building, and resolve conflicts before they escalate. Demonstrate firm, courteous and tactful ways of handling difficult situations while simultaneously respecting the rights of others. Make lunch/detention pulls. Sweep students out of the building after school.Student Culture Database Maintenance: Daily input of discipline interventions (detention, referral, etc.) into "Culture" database system. Prepare daily detention list & labels. Track Behavior Support Plans, including incentives.Student Supervision: Campus supervision before, during and after school, including but not limited to:passing periods, classrooms, lobby, hallways, and street.Parent/Guardian Interface: Meet with and/or call parents as needed. Maintain courteous, respectful and professional relationships, communication and behavior when dealing with parents.Office Duties: Answer school's phone for a portion of the workdaySafety: Assist with school emergency safety procedures including but not limited to fire, earthquake, lockdown and other evacuation procedures as needed.Embody the School's vision, mission, and policies: Be a well-known, positive school presence, modeling Envision Schools' mission and values. Demonstrate knowledge of standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behaviorOther duties as assignedRequirements: Proficient knowledge of googledocs and Excel. Prior experience working with youth in a supervisory capacity. Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with students, parents, staff. Knowledgeable of student confidentiality requirements. Current First Aid and CPR. High School Graduate; Community College or other related education or training preferred.Job Classification and Hours:This is a full-time hourly position on a school year schedule, with health and welfare benefits, paid sick leave and Holiday pay offered. Normal working hours during the school year (August 1 through June 30) are 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a ½ hour unpaid lunch. Overtime pay and daily break requirements followed per the Department of Labor statutes. There may be additional summer work, TBD.Pay:The hourly rate for this position is $16 to $19, depending on experience.Hiring Process:Please apply via www.envisionschools.org/apply.
