Peer Health Exchange seeks a talented leader to expand its presence in New York, continuing to build on the success of its program to achieve significant impact. The New York Executive Director will lead the growth of Peer Health Exchange in New York and cultivate new funding sources to support that growth. The Executive Director will work with PHE's National Management Team to develop the New York impact strategy, setting and achieving aggressive goals for the organization. In support of these goals, the Executive Director will oversee the New York program and manage the New York program team. Finally, the Executive Director will serve as the spokesperson for PHE in New York City, increasing the organization's visibility throughout the community. This position requires exceptional drive and passion for PHE's work, significant capacity for management and fundraising, and the ability to direct the day-to-day operations of a growing, dynamic organization. The New York Executive Director reports to the National Chief Operating Officer. This is a full-time, management position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Outreach and Development
The New York Executive Director will raise funds for the PHE New York City site by:
Designing and implementing a New York development strategy and plan, and building a sustainable local funding base that includes individuals, corporations, foundations, and public funders
Developing and supporting the New York Board of Overseers to serve as community ambassadors for PHE
Serving as the external face of PHE in New York by building and managing relationships with strategic community partners, the philanthropic community, and the media
Program Growth and Oversight
The New York Executive Director will manage the PHE program in New York by:
Establishing program goals in New York and meeting those goals
Overseeing the PHE program at College Sites and Partner High Schools
Directing the training of student volunteers, including leadership skills (managing a peer group) and teaching skills (public speaking, facilitation, and classroom management skills and health information)
Developing partnerships with public high schools in New York City
Manage workshops in Partner High Schools
Evaluating the PHE program to continually improve outcomes
Management and Operations
The New York Executive Director will lead the PHE New York team by:
Supervising the PHE New York staff
Providing fiscal oversight for the PHE New York site, including developing and implementing budgets and managing and reporting assets, revenue, and expenditures
Provide organizational oversight for the PHE New York site, including overseeing legal and insurance policies, office systems, and technology
Assist with the development of PHE's national strategic plans
Peer Health Exchange is looking for a dynamic, driven individual who:
Is committed to the Peer Health Exchange mission
Has significant leadership experience supervising, managing, and training others
Has experience and/or appetite for raising funds and growing programs
Has a Bachelors degree; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Has strong verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies including college students, high school partners, board members, supporters, and community members
Has excellent public speaking, writing, and editing skills
Is comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy, entrepreneurial environment
Compensation and Benefits:
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
