  • Yeah this would be really useful - how will it be integrated into editplus? A user tool wouldn't be must use because I can write my own scripts to do whatever I wanted. If it were to replace functions like the Save function from the file menu that would be perfect... • That's true - python includes a feature in its re library that allows this. There are also many other wonderful features. With reference to the conversation about FTP support in editplus - I would really like to see better re support in e+ - it doesn't even support non-greedy quantifiers (AFAIK). I'm not saying that the python re module needs to be implemented because it has some...

  • It freezes because it's waiting for input and the output window has no ability to accept input. Run it without capturing output (user tools options) and it will open in a separate console window allowing input. For some languages that I use I have two user tools for running the app. one as captured output and one in a console also with prompting for arguments to allow access to...

  • VC++ generates a batch file (or actually executes commands as though they were in a batch file) that is run to compile an application and the commands are documented in a file with the extension ".plg" which is html I think. I simply copied the commands from there into a batch file into the dirs of any project that I wanted to edit with E+ and used compileproject.bat as the command...

  • simply use the command line: "javac srcfile.java" to compile and: "java srcfile" to execute the class file. srcfile=$(FileNameNoExt) srcfile.java=$(FileName) output can be captured from the first since no input is expected (it crashes the process on my machine) and the second may need to be run in a separate window depending on whether you are writing AWT or swing or not. extra...

  • Have you tried turning syntax hilighting back on in the view menu? If this fixes it you probably pressed alt-shift-s accidentaly and turned it off. I've done this before and was completely confused for a while. Otherwise I have nothing - actually you've done so many other things that this is practically all there is left to try! :-) good luck Adam --- In editplus@^$1.., "DTJesus1...

  • I wouldn't mind having a look - I have some scripts that I use to name all of my music so that it is title case and handles words like MacDonald, 'Til, Don't, VII and stuff like that. I can do Python or Perl (as far as CGI scripts are concerned) and am happy to help. • Hi, If there was actually a prob with this in previous versions it is probably the cause, however I just wanted to point out that it might not be editplus centered. Alternatively, create a program item and use the "help displayer" (sorry, don't know what it's called) as the exe and the help file name as the argument. Or try using "start" as the program because it simply runs the...

  • Hi, well, what you're trying to do is not impossible, only very difficult. Mind you I've never done this myself, but what you would have to do is insert your extra 14 bytes where you want them and then add 14 to any memory references (in the exe header I think, as well as in any functions that call other functions) to functions and data that was past the insertion point. Finally...
