**** I have been having a hard time keeping up with posts for the last few days... busy life :). But I did intend to ask or mention, have you tried "not creating" a sound yourself, rather just listen?

Back in 1998 a situation in my life caused me to really take a look at whether my use of a word or sound I created was helping me get through a difficult time in my life.

I was seeing a marriage councilor who recommended various alternative was to work through my anger, and depression. Also at the time, I was working as a caretaker of 43 acres of State land; a park with lots of nature all around. So what I did was stop using my own voice to make sounds.... and started listening to the sounds around me. Putting myself out in the woods, and just listen. (You can do this sort of thing in any setting.... well almost <G> )

I also started listening to Native flute and drum music, and any type of relaxation or nature sounds type music. I started listening to various cd's before going to sleep, and found this actually helped relax me. I would drift off into a peaceful dream experience, and sometimes an actual conscious OOB experience. Just a thought to share....
