I have been letting the dust settle. I have also been as far from a computer
as I could get. I nearly succeeded in mostly not using a computer during
September and I am still not ready to do much more with this media, other than
watch, at the time being.
I spent a week camping around Sedona and hiking into various vortices and
viewpoints around the area with Bari Hill, a psychic/spiritual counselor from
Seattle.. I was amazed at some of my experiences there. The otherworldly
quotient is really quite high in Sedona, some of the hype is justified. There
are at least a couple of places which really do have pronounced effects on your
mental/emotional states - quite noticeable if you meditate on a regular
disciplined basis and thus have the means to "compare notes". The effect has
nothing to do with visual or mundane physical effects of the surrounding
environment. It is an "energy" thing - of the spiritual plane.
I also spent a wonderful third of the month on the roads of Northern/Central
Arizona and Western New Mexico. My expedition began as a journey to meet
Cornplanter at La Querencia. I spend a week there helping him build the
beginning of a campground there plus a marvelous labyrinth of the old-fashioned
mystical kind. I was amazed to discover how much correspondence can be found
between the structure of the labyrinth and the yogin circuits of the chakra
system which leads to energization of the crown chakra and the enlightenment
which is spoken of by mystics.
I spent a lot of time meditating and thinking as well as developing a bad case
of temporary tendonitus in my left leg from hauling too many rocks around. It
was quite amazing to see Cornplanter unload a complete, real, old-fashioned,
fully functional piano out of his Chevy "like a rock" Van and onto a sheet of
30 year old junk plywood which served as the stage for his "Concert For The
Earth". He positioned it in the center of a small natural amphitheater which
overlooked several acres of clear fields which sloped very gently down towards
the South, all surrounded by an abundance of trees which grow up the sides and
tops of the hillocks which form the Continental Divide through this area North
of Lindrith and nearly due East from Sante Fe. The hillside perch for this
amphitheater provided a wonderful view of hills and woods which stretched out
in the distance for over 50 miles. Oak, Ponderosa Pine, Pinons, Junipers of two
or three varieties, even a few cedars, all harbored us in green robes and in
the far distance, the famed Rocky Mountain Aspens crowned one of the high hills
After I had pooped out of doing any more work to give my sore leg some healing
room, Cornplanter had dug out three levels from the hillside for a couple dozen
chairs. Thus ensconced in this impromptu theatre which is perched nearly on
top of the central spine of the Northern American continent (the Rocky Mountain
ridge line which divides East and West), the concert began a couple hours
before the moment of the Fall Equinox on the 22nd of September. Playing his
own compositions for hours, Cornplanter enchanted his entire audience of the 13
souls who sat around his piano in the middle of the woods, plus some distant
neighbors who heard the piano play through the woods and the neighboring
fields, one of whom (an old timer) admitted later that it made her cry.
I don't know if the concert helped heal anyone else on the entire Earth but it
sure smothered me in beauty. This was truly about getting a life.
So it was that I was in no hurry to return to nerdly pursuits on computers. I
didn't die dear Anakahamon, but I was in Heaven for awhile and only slowly did
I return to the hills of Black Canyon City. On the way home I took the
southern route to Phoenix. I traveled down the Continental Divide and along the
Rio Grande to Truth or Consequences, NM and then took the byroad through the
Gila National Forest to Silver City and thence eventually through the Apache
National Forest to Globe and Phoenix after a few side trips. I found many
interesting ecological islands in this vast area of high desert plains and I
spent some time camping in the middle of this vast wilderness and scattered old
There is a lot to like right now in many places in this land (much of it is
above 5000 feet in elevation) and I have the feeling that after the shift in
the poles this area will become a major focus of pioneer development. It
should become very much like the range through the eastern Himalayan Mountains
- wet half the year, green, very productive of fruits and nuts of all
varieties, warm, yet kept temperate by the high altitudes.
Well, so far as World War III, it will have to fight on its own steam. It is
mostly about getting control of money flows and shutting down radical groups
and most of that work is going to be the invisible work of invisible
operatives. The fireworks with Bin Laden and the Taliban will be over quite
quickly. Already, reading between the lines, areas in the southern republics
of the Russian Federation are being rapidly developed as launchpads for U.N.
peacekeeping efforts in Afghanistan. That action will play out fast.
There is something amazingly karmic about what is going to happen. It was the
US/Russian cold war which destroyed Afghanistan and created Bin Laden and the
Taliban (they are one and the same). It is now likely to be US/Russian
cooperation which will lead to efforts to heal what is left of Afghanistan.
For the immediate and longer term, I am going to give Rawa some money (the
Organization of Afghanistanian Woman). First political donation I have made in
years, but it isn't really a political donation in my book. Seems more
spiritual. I highly recommend giving power to the woman there with donations.
Go there. Do.
