Hola !!! My name is NAdielle and I will be working on the Earth Rose Farm between january 15th to February 4 th. Maybe much longer if is possible, I don't have ticket back for the moment. Please email as soon as you are confirmed the time that you expect to arrive at the farm. All the directions are at our yahoo web site. There is no problem if you want to stay latter and a lot of things to do around our area. Mountains vistas where you can see both the Caribbean & Pacific, Hot springs, waterfalls, beach surfing in Dominical, rivers & only 2 hours to Panama.
I come from a little town Rouyn-Noranda in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, CAnada. My maternal language is French so sorry for the poor english and I really want to learn spanish. Spanish will actually be easier for you its similar latin based rather than germatic base as is english. We speak english on the farm but most who come want to learn spanish. Rozi has a great spanish program on our computer & may have clases if there is interest on our off time. Our local neighbors are very friendly ans will practice with you.
I live in a small village in country, there's a lot of ressources like several lakes surrounded by a very dense boreal forest and a very fertile ground.
There's a lot of different kind of farm around, some bovin and dairy, strawberry, rawsberry, blueberry, and every veggies. Please if you can bring seeds to plant. We would love to grow all kinds of berries that do not require a freeze. It never gets below 50 degrees here. Bring any seeds you can get your hands on we will compensate if there is a cost. Also see if you can get hardwood seeds from any tree farms in the area. Ask for seed contribution toward out reforestation project. For vewggie they need to be hierloom seeds Témiscamingue is a part of the region or the majority of the important cultures are. There is even a vineyard which made a success has to take its heat of the Témiscamingue lake, which joins the big lakes between Canada and USA. The temperature does not allow us to cultivate all the year. I made my cégep in Human Science, I liked the geography and the history, but I plan get my own farm in 4 or 5 years. I wish we could grow grapes but are too far south . they grow in Chile but they have freeze there. Look on a world map and will see that costa rica is actually more south than parts of Panama & south america because South America is east of us as well as a little north. Great geography & history of the area we have books and are interested in both subjects. Our niehbors have 3 kids in school and are interested in shareing their culture with us. I would like realized this project in Abitibi-Témiscamingue but I have several things to learn, and some people to meet before throwing me in such an adventure. That is why I'm very opened and hothead at the idea of coming to work and learn on the Earth Rosefarm. You will get a lot of knowledge working our farm that has had a 50 year history of growing. You will also get to know wwoofers and the in and outs of running an organic farm in the tropics. I like working outside and I was brought up in country then has every year we make a big garden where several vegetables grows and we make our firewood by making trails in the forest. We have plenty of land that has not even been walked on yet. we will need real trail making and building platgforms for tent sites and cabina sites.
I adapt myself very well has new situations, I am in the habit of working hard and I like learning new things and meet new people, then I hope be a good worker on the farm. We really need folks to take the intiative and create an atmosphere of fun working together rather than be like bosses & workers. We are looking at wwoofers as partners in this project. By you working hard as a team all will work as hard, likewise if one or two slackers and go individual the group effort fails and hard workers lose interest. I also worked on a cherry orchard and on a vineyard in the Okanagan valley , Canada, and I really liked the experience! It's so great to work outside, theres no better jobs at all. Theres more to learn about me and about you too so see you on the farm! Hasta Luego Nadielle
You seem perfect for our farm and we welcome you with open heart & mind. We look forward to seeing you. My 49th Birthday willbe on Feb 12th if you are there. Also in February there is a Rainbow Gathering in Panama, do not know the details but will find out. nice hearing from you. Glo Maji
