      What does a probability value such as 3.47 mean, whereas I understand
      the value should be between 0.00 and 1.00?

      I didn't set up the delay properly, but I also see similar results on
      other monitoring web sites.

        The Evidence value shown in the log and on the front panel of Faros is not a
        probability, it is a so called log-likelihood ratio. This value can be
        higher than one. In fact, the values higher than 1 indicate the presence of
        the beacon signal.

            This program needs to accurately estimate the signal delay which requires a
            direct access to the WDM audio driver as described at the
            Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/device/audio/DirectKS.mspx
            .
            Unfortunately, Microsoft states, "Be forewarned that the DirectKS approach
            is unlikely to work on operating systems after Windows XP and Windows Server
            2003".

            A number of users have reported that Faros worked fine on their Vista
            systems,
            so YMMV.
