Another lucky dutch oven cook paid $95 for a 5-incher at the IDOS Spring convention. He said he would have gone higher if necessary!

Evidently someone with more disposable income than myself, and a more
understanding wife (or Husband). I can't see spending that much on a
DO that is so limited in it's usfulness. I would rather buy a couple
12" and put the rest tword buying some good stuff to cook in there.

When Ouida and I did the Dutch Oven Demo for the Fly Fish Texas 2003 in
Athens, Texas last month, a fellow came up to the booth to show a 5 inch
Lodge that he had been given by his company. He said that the company had
purchased several of them and they were being used ash trays.

It was really cute, but I could not see a good use of the 5 inch pot for us.
We use an 8 inch for our Western Quiche as there are just the two of us when
we camp, unless our neighbor campers slide by for a taste.

I made a couple of calls to both of Lehman's stores in Ohio. They do not have any more 5" ovens. Infact the lady at the store thought $24.95 was alot for the one they sold. Until I told her it was a prize catch. Someone got a deal.
