- The Scania steps did used to hinge down and out, not to the extent of the Argsy though, the flaps came out and down with the hinges on the top edge so to speak. It certainly sounds like they had to give it a lot of thought though to make it have some form of adjustment for the tighter areas... The Scania just had a small flap covering each standard step that was supposed to fold down when the door opened right? The Argsy has the entire step assembly hinged just like the door is hinged. The trailing edge comes out almost 1m. You have the choice of turning the system for tight parking areas and climbing the steps in the normal fashion, or leaving it on and the whole thnig swings out.Sean
