My Interests in Dundee are as follows:
John KIDD a mason (1792-1844) and his wife HElen DYSART (1792 -1871) lived in the Lochee area. Both are buried (I think) at Logie Cemetery. She died after it was closed and went to court to be allowed to be buried there. They lived in South Road in 1841
Their children were Charles (1822 -1864) , Ann (1824-1852), William (1827 - 1854), James (b 1829) Alexander Reid (1831 - <1901), Helen (b 1832) and Margaret
Alexander was a baker and moved to London where he married a Hannah BASS, but returned to Dundee to marry Annie BRUCE in 1891.
Charles was a mason, gocer and spirit merchant and lived in Lower Pleasaunce. He married Grace MacFARLANE in Collace, Perthshire, in 1848. They had 6 children - Margaret (1849 - > 1891) aka Mrs James FERGUSSON and Mrs Frederick KEMP), Alexander (1850-1926), John (b 1852), James (b 1853) (was a publican in London), Catherine Menzies (1855 -1857), Grace (1862 - < 1881).
Alexander married Grace CAMPBELL (his second cousin) in Dull in 1876 and lived at times in Gardner St, Wilkies Lane and Guthrie St.
Their children were Grace (1877), Robert (1879), Charles (1879), Alexander (1880), James (1883), Maggie (1887), Lizzie (1888) and John (1891). Grace married James WALLACE and continued in Dundee, Robert and Charles emigrated to the USA, James was a jeweller in Kingussie, Maggie married John STARK, Lizzie (my grandmother) married Thomas BATHGATE and moved to Cupar, Fife and John emigrated to South Africa.
