Can anyone help with the house-name "Sluievannachie". It is the
house of one of my family, and situated in Taylor Street, Forfar. A
previous owner had been told that it was the gaelic for "edge of the
moor", although this has never been substantiated. The house was
built in 1901 on the lands of Bankhead Farm, part of Carsegray
Estate, and had at that time been on the northern edge of the town.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
