Another idea that might help keep TOGS more
competitive and interesting towards the later rounds
would be having the later rounds worth more points.
There could be a multiplier on the points that
increased every couple of turns. Say for a 10 turn
contest it would turns 1-3= points x 1, turns 4-6=
points x 1.25, 7-9= x 1.5, turn 10= x 2. So a team
that starts off poorly has a chance to come back in
the later rounds, and any team that manages to stay
close throughout the TOGS could win by pulling out the
last turn which would be worth double the normal
points. The exact numbers and turns they applied to
could be tweaked.
Just throwing out ideas since I plan to participate in
and win the next TOGS tournament.
