      WE OWN THE NIGHT

      ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK
TO BE RELEASED BY LAKESHORE RECORDS

Soundtrack Features Original Music Composed by Wojciech Kilar

(October 16, 2007- Los Angeles, CA) – Lakeshore Records will release the original motion picture soundtrack for WE OWN THE NIGHT on October 2, 2007.  The soundtrack features original music by Wojciech Kilar and songs by David Bowie, Blondie, Tito Puente, Coati Mundi, and Louis Prima and Keely Smith.

Directed by James Gray, WE OWN THE NIGHT stars Joaquin Phoenix as Bobby Green, the manager of the popular Russian-owned nightclub El Caribe.  Green has changed his name and concealed his connection to a long line of distinguished New York cops.  For Green ever night is a party, in a haze of cigarette smoke and disco music, accompanied by his Puerto Rican girlfriend (Eva Mendes).

But it is 1988 and NY’s drug trade is escalating.  He tries to keep his distance from a gangster targeted by Bobby’s brother Joseph (Mark Wahlberg) and his father Burt (Robert Duvall) the legendary deputy chief of police.

The WE OWN THE NIGHT Original Motion Picture soundtrack offers songs that transport you back to 1980s.  The album features two Blondie classics (Heart of Glass and Rapture), David Bowie’s Let’s Dance, Mambo Diablo by Tito Puente, two tracks by Louis Prima (Should I and Just A Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody with Keely Smith), and twelve tracks of original score composed by composer Wojciech Kilar.

Wojciech Kilar has been composing for films since the 1950s in his native Poland.  He came to light only recently in the United States with Bram Stoker’s DRACULA.  The soundtrack featured dark and powerful music with an Eastern European flavor.  His other film scores include THE PIANIST and THE NINTH GATE.  His music has also appeared in THE TRUMAN SHOW and CITY OF ANGELS.

Warner Bros. Pictures presents WE OWN THE NIGHT, in theaters on October 12, 2007.  The Lakeshore Records soundtrack will be available in stores on October 2, 2007.
