it is still published if it's not it should be.

Do you mean a liturgy of the word process for children? The children
leave the assembly for the liturgy of the word and return at the time of
        the gifts?

            Dear Melani,
We have a Liturgy of the Word with Children hear at Our Lady of Peace. The
children are dismissed after the opening prayers at the beginning of the
            Lirurgy of the Word.
We use materials from Treehaus Communications, Loveland. Ohio.
They have materials and books that are resources as to what should happen
            and how to do it.
This is my firsts attempt at conversing with members of the group and I hope
            I was helpful.

                  Kelly,
I am really pleased with the Treehaus materials. The Leaders guide is easy
to use. I just met with some of the ministers of the Word this week and
they all said the same thing. The only thing that you might be uncomfortable
with is that it is not from what I can see is "authorized" by the U.S.
Catholic Bishops, the Canadians have aprroved it. When you compare the
SUNDAY book of readings with the Lectionary for children, the language is
just so much more at a child's level of undestanding. They have also come
out with a planning guide and other materials that we will be using this
                  year.
                  Good luck in your search.

A few notes about the Treehaus/Canadian Bishop's adapted lectionary:

                    1. Only two of the three Sunday readings are given. Usually, but not
always, the OT, and always the Gospel.

                    2. They are almost always the same as in the main assembly, except on
occasions when the judgment is made that a particularly reading
                    cannot
be adapted to children. Then a substitute is made.

                    3. The translation, at times, seems truer to the meaning of the adult
text than the one done for the American Bishops.

                    A couple of general comments:

CLW is celebration, not catechesis. It is sometimes a "jump" for
                    those
                    used to catechetical settings.

Treehaus sells a good video indroducing the process titled "how to
celebrate the Word with children and why"

There are two books by Treehaus that are excellent: One on the
                    process
titled " A Child Shall Lead Them" and one on children's homiletics
titled "To Walk with a Child."

Three volumes of music by OCP - Christopher Walker (one for each
cycle) provide great kid-singable Ps. Responses and Acclamations
coordinated with each Sunday. They are so good that you will find
yourself using many of these with other children's and sacramental
liturgies throughout the year. There is a set of tapes available for
                    each.

We are in our ninth year of doing this, and have a wonderful team
                    open
the the faith experience of children and formed by the Treehaus
                    materials.
