- Dear Jim & RobThanks alot for your informations & comments !!These will help me a lot !!For french readers the concept of work for hire is weird-As even if you create a character for a publisher you still ownthe moral rights to it-In other words what happened to Ditko, Kirby...wouldn't been possible here-For exemple when Hergé died as he asked for it - no further comic adventures of Tintin wouldn't have been possible-Peyo family stills get money from the Smurf franchise ...BestBon week-endLe 6 févr. 15 à 23:30, 'Jim Salicrup' salicrup@... My apologies to Will Murray—I enjoyed that article a lot, but obviously misremembered that it was Jack C. Harris (who, if my faulty memory is right, wrote that Hulk inventory story with Ditko that there was also a great article about in Ditkomania, by Jack)and not Will who created (co-created?) Squirrel Girl. Thanks, for the correction, Rob!

Subject: Re: [ditkomania] Big article on Ditko on french mag + Way to promote DitkomaniaWill Murray was the creator of Squirrel Girl, according to his own account, as printed in Ditkomania a few years ago. The printed comic carried a "plot by Ditko" credit, but Murray says that this was in error.
Jean-Emmanuel, for an article about Ditko I do recommend checking out my Ditko FAQ page at
(my apologies for all of the pop-up ads there)
which may help to explain or clarify some issues that continually get mixed-up or distorted in various accounts about Ditko's career.

I didn’t work with Ditko as much as many others (It was a total pleasure working with him.). Mort Todd, for one example of such folks on this list.
I’m not sure what Mr. Snyder’s policy is regarding interviews—best to ask him.
Ditko’s not the artist on the new Squirrel Girl comic, nor do I see Jack C. Harris or Ditko’s creator credits on it. I assume this had to have been created back when Marvel had new Character Agreements in place.
Good luck,
Jim

Jean-Emmanuel,
You may want to mention the work Ditko does with Robyn Snyder—both new comics material and essays for The Comics.
And don’t forget Marvel’s now publishing SQUIRREL GIRL—which was also co-created by Ditko.
Thanks,
Jim

Subject: [ditkomania] Big article on Ditko on french mag + Way to promote DitkomaniaDear friends
I hope you are fine-
Been asked by french leading high profile & popular ''Geek mag''
named Geek Magazine
To write a big article on Steve Ditko-
Interview people who worked with him- knew hm well - or are just super specialists !!
The idea is to explain to a whole new generation why Ditko was so important in the comic industry
and how Marvel didn't treat him very well for Spiderman & Doc Strange !!
Merci mes amis
Jean-Emmanuel
PS-
Of course it will be the perfect timing to promote Ditkomania
