Subject: [Ont] Ontario BMD Index Project

We are a group of volunteers that would like to transcribe all of the
Ontario Birth, Marriage, and Death Index reels held at the Ontario Archives.

The transcribed data will be placed in an online searchable database and
will be made available to the public FREE of charge. We have been in
contact with the Ontario Archives and will take part in a formal process to
      evaluate our proposal.

We need to estimate the number of volunteers the project may have and the
length of time it may take to transcribe the approximately 5 million records
in the collection. If this is a project you would like to participate in,
please fill in a short survey located at:

Note that all personal information will be kept strictly confidential and
will not be given to anyone. The purpose of the survey is solely to estimate
the potential total number of volunteers this project could have and
estimate the length of time it may take to complete the project.

Your help would be greatly appreciated! Feel free to pass the survey link
on to anyone you think may be interested!

      Thank you,
      Jill Claus
