      Hi Folks:

The following appears in the current issue of the Wellness Letter from the University of California, Berkeley.

To keep track of your family health history, use the government's computerized Family Health Portrait at http://www.familyhistory.hhs.gov. It is easy to use and helps you create a drawing of your family tree and a chart. You can print it out, update it when necessary, and share it with your family and doctor. Many health problems run in families, so tracking the illnesses of your blood relatives can help you and your doctor identify your risks and take steps to keep your family healthy. You can get a free print version (in English or Spanish) by calling 888-275-4772.

You may be interested to know that our AFHS FamilyRoots 2006 Expo Seminar (October 13/14) will be providing further insight and information about genetic medicine and the value of family history research.

      Cheers
