Sheila and Dave were members of the Society up to 2004 and I am sure many of
you remember them.
EMBURY _ Sheila Barbara June 6, 1931 - August 1, 2005 Sheila Embury, beloved
wife, mother and grandmother passed away in Calgary on August 1, 2005 at the
age of 74 years. Sheila was born in Calgary and graduated as an R.N. from
the Calgary General Hospital in 1953 and a B.Sc in Nursing from the U. of
Alberta in 1971. She served with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of
Calgary from 1971 to 1976. Sheila was elected to the Alberta Legislature in
1979 representing Calgary Northwest Constituency until she retired in 1986.
Sheila is survived by her husband David; daughter Lynn (Richard Williams);
son James (Jane Goudie); and grandchildren, Christopher, Geoffrey, Madeline,
Joshua and Siobhan. The family wish to thank the nurses and staff of the Tom
Baker Cancer Centre and the Sarcee Hospice for all their kindness. A
Memorial Service will be held at St. James Anglican Church (6351 Ranchview
Drive N.W.), Calgary on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. A reception
will follow at the Calgary Winter Club (4611 - 14 Street N.W.). Arrangements
entrusted to Personal Alternative Funeral Services.
