RE: illustrations don't copy
Right click on the image and then select save - save it as jpg or bmp - or whatever name and format it shows. Remember where you saved it. Then open the Word document and go to Insert, Picture, From File and select the image you saved.
This works better than copy and paste.
To insert a picture into the text of a message, when in your email program change setting under Format to HTML and then use Insert, Picture and Browse to locate the saved picture and click on it to insert the picture. If you cannot see a picture someone else sent, try changing your setting to HTML format and if that doesn't work, they probably did not insert the image correctly.

Hi to all;
In Dennis Ridenours series on Digital Imaging for Genealogists Article 3-3
Part 3, he has and illustration with the little man holding the camera over
the table. When I copy and paste this article into Word, I don't get the
illustration. I get a square box that I can adjust the size of. There are
other times when someone sends a picture, all I get is a little box with an
X on it, within another box. This is probably something in my settings in
this new computer. Can someone tell me where to go to find these settings
and what to change them to so I get the illustration.
Thanks in advance,
