      Subject: Origins Network News: Unique Irish/US Passenger Lists and Surrey
      Census Records Added!

      Origins Network News: January 2005

      Unique new Irish - American dataset plus new UK Census Records Added:

      **************************************

      * 1890 Ireland/United States Passenger Lists
      * 1871 England and Wales Census London- Surrey records

      **************************************

      * 1890 Irish Passenger Lists:
      Exclusive US/Irish genealogy treasure now available at Irish Origins
      http://www.irishorigins.com

      Subscribers to Irish Origins or Origins Total Access will now be able to
      search our 1890 Irish Passenger Lists containing over 45,000 names of
      passengers on board ships from Irish ports to US destinations.

      These records have been compiled directly from the original lists held at
      The National Archives (class BT27) and to the best of our knowledge have
      never been indexed before.

      This data holds a wealth of information, particularly of interest to Irish
      Americans, including:

      Ship Information: date of sailing, ships name, tonnage, name of master,
      departure port and destination and a full passenger list and line.

      For each passenger, their full name, occupation, nationality, age and
      marital status, plus. Of particular value are the many instances of family
      groups in these lists

      The departure ports covered by these records are:

      o Queenstown (Cork; 306 sailings)
      o Londonderry (135 sailings, 2 of which went via Galway)
      o Galway (17 sailings)

      And destinations:

      o Baltimore (17 sailings)
      o Boston (68)
      o New York (288)
      o Philadelphia (62)
      o Portland, Maine (20)
