In addition to action and inaction in the Senate over Bill S-18 (to
release the 1911 to 2001 census after 92 years), the Information
Commissioner has commenced an action in Federal Court for the release of
the 1911 census. He has 95 complainants, including 5 from Calgary, 1
from Edmonton, and 1 from Airdrie. B.C. is particularly well
represented as is small town and rural Ontario. There is at least one
complainant from every province except PQ, PEI and Nfld. Nfld's census
up to 1942 are already available so they can be excused for lacking
interest. PEI has a small population so they can be excused. Montreal
still has a significant population of people who immigrated during the
20th century so I'm not so sure that they can be excused. But there you
      go. Action on two fronts.
