Are any of you aware of any program which would allow one to "create" a literal family tree by typing in names for various branches  (no details, just a name for a single page tree image/symbol)? Thanks.

Some of the genealogy programs have a tree background for boxes with
photos -- person, parents, grandparents. Might be interesting for a family
book cover or chapter title page. Legacy 5 Preview has an option for a tree
page and can be downloaded just now. Family Origins 10 (discontinued) has a
tree page with siblings of the starting person.

Another option is a box chart without pictures that has a tree
        background. -- Elizabeth

You could just create an org chart with your word processor.
