With respect, I suggest that you plan for lighting and LEDs now, and
install them before you start throwing clay.

It's pretty trivial to start with a tree armature made of wires and
LEDs, then add the trunk and leaves. I think you'll find it pretty
difficult to start with a finished tree and then add lights. Buildings
are a less extreme case, but the principle still applies -- wiring and
LEDs first, then clay.
