Hello To The Group.....
I downloaded HAMPAL a couple of days ago to run alongside my DIGTRX 3.11 (Yes, I know the author has gone "South"). I've been loyal
to DIGTRX 'cause I like the GUI frankly. However, I hear that HAMPAL "works better" than DIGTRX; that doesn't have anything to
do with the DIGTRX author going away, does it?
I created my "announcestart.wave and announcestop.wave" files using
the waterfall text editor thingie. Do I create "GOOD COPY" and
"BAD COPY" and "HELLO ALL" and whatever other waterfall messages
the same way and simply save them the same way as well?
DIGTRX has some neat individual buttons for the CALLSIGN, GOOD COPY, BAD COPY, WATERFALL MESSAGE.... is there any chance of the same
being applied to HAMPAL in the future? I ask only 'cause it seems
to be a little "movement-intensive" to have to first select from a drop down list (unless I'm doing "newbie wrong things"...)
I don't suppose there's been any discussion by anyone about maybe incorporating the QAM displays for FAC and MSC constellations like that on DIGTRX or WinDRM? (Yes, I know, I know...If I like that
so much, I can stay with my DIGTRX) I'm just asking about HAMPAL - since it's new to ME and I didn't see those things present.
When I clicked on the selection to load a picture file, I think I clicked "OK" or something like that without actually selecting a picture. My HAMPAL put my ICOM into transmit and I couldn't get
it to go back to receive until I rebooted my 'puter. Has anyone
else noticed that? Guess I better be sure to have a picture loaded in the future before I get careless again, huh?
Regards and thanks much in advance,
