the breeders in austin 1/30
- saw the breeders show last night at emo's:
first off, it was very cool seeing the breeders play live...i've been
waiting to see them since '94. the set lasted only about 60 minutes.
they played a fair amount of new stuff, about 4 or 5 songs
worth...possibly these songs are still in the working stage because
they were a bit rough.
oh and did i mention kim was very drunk? =) forgetting to plug her
guitar in at the beginning of the show, forgetting words, and
splitting her lip a tad after running into the mic.
the selection of "hits" they played...very good. cannonball, saints,
doe, tipp city, pacer, s.o.s, divine hammer, iris (played very well,
may i add). also played safari, which i was very happy with...what a
great song! they finished up after a very long intermission (during
which a good portion of the folks left, thinking that was all) with a
very rocking version of no aloha..the place was alive!!!
all in all, good show...wished it were longer...got myself a very
swank t-shirt for $10 tho, very good indeeed. now if i can only find
a taper =)
