      the doctors who performed Colombia's
      first legal abortion on an 11-year-old
      girl who allegedly was raped by her
      stepfather.

      Alfonso Cardinal Lopez Trujillo,
      President of the Vatican's Pontifical
      Council for the Family, made the
      announcement in an interview with
      RCN television.

        Let's see here.
        1. She's 11 years old which means she is far too young to cope with
        pregnancy (and much more likely to produce a defective baby).
        2. She seems to have been raped.

        Now a great many (quite possibly most) anti-abortionists would
        actually be willing to allow an abortion under just one of those
        conditions.

        If the Christian religion and the Catholic variant in particular had
        any kind of morality the people who oppose the abortion would be the
        ones excomunicated.
