Moment of silence rule protested by students

BLOOMINGTON A controversial new law mandating a moment of silence in public schools was challenged on the steps of the old McLean County courthouse Saturday by about 35 high school students.

Rustin Fakheri and Zach Parton, both students at University High School, organized the protest against the law that went into effect Oct. 11. Students from Normal Community High School and Normal Community West also attended the protest.
