FSU Avoids Elimination With 17-11 Victory Over Florida
Second-ranked Florida State (49-11) thwarted elimination on Saturday afternoon downing intra-state rival Florida (34-24) 17-11 in game three of the Tallahassee Regional. The Seminoles registered a season-high 25 hits as every batter in the starting line-up recorded a hit, while eight of the nine batters collected multiple hits. It was the fifth time this season that FSU has posted 20 or more hits in a game.

It was a fitting final bow for senior Walter Dix and the Florida State men's track team as they closed down its last meet at Mike Long Track this season with the Seminoles' fourth-consecutive NCAA East Regional Title. The team and its premiere sprinter will now head west to Iowa on June 11-14 for to fight for their third-straight NCAA Championship.
