      passage: Acts 13:13-13:24

      Chapter 13

Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in
Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem. But when
they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into
the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down. And after the reading
of the law and the prophets the rulers of the synagogue sent unto them,
saying, Ye men and brethren, if ye have any word of exhortation for the
people, say on. Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said,
Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience. The God of this
people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they
dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought
he them out of it. And about the time of forty years suffered he their
manners in the wilderness. And when he had destroyed seven nations in
the land of Chanaan, he divided their land to them by lot. And after
that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty
years, until Samuel the prophet. And afterward they desired a king:
and God gave unto them Saul the son of Cis, a man of the tribe of
Benjamin, by the space of forty years. And when he had removed him,
he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave
their testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man
after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will. Of this man's
seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour,
Jesus: When John had first preached before his coming the baptism of
repentance to all the people of Israel.

      Chapter 6

When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come
unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these
may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he
would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not
sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of
his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is
a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but
what are they among so many? And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now
there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about
five thousand. And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks,
he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were
set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would. When they
were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that
remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together,
and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves,
which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. Then those men,
when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth
that prophet that should come into the world.
