      "The Afterlives of Specimens: Science and Mourning in Whitman's America," a lecture by Lindsay Tuggle, John W. Kluge Fellow at the Library of Congress.  
      The Civil War narratives of Walt Whitman and Union Surgeon John H. Brinton offer alternative histories of war casualties: military and poetic, phantom and physical.
